april. APRIL? good lord, i've missed blogging . . .

-
time, it gets away from one, don't it?
-
so . . . some of the little fun things that we did in APRIL.
-
richard haines was in town for the opening of his show
at a gallery literally around the corner from our house,
so,
we got to have dinner with one of our favorite illustrator/blogger/renaissance men,
got to go to a great opening,
and i got to wear that purple scarf again.
-
(in order of importance.)
-

-
(plus, met a model for a show coming up, but dan vickery is another story . . .)
-
(a semi-naked american flag story, but another story, nonetheless . . .)
-
easter.
puppy loves still good with los angeles being 75, always.
-

-
brandon hermann, friend, artist and photo mentor,
let me collaborate with him on an editorial shoot recently,
and it was the great combination of glamour and edge
that an artist and a fashion fiend can find
when the like to create
together:
-

-
lots of nightlife.
-
love watching chris puckett dance.
he . . . um . . . really lets loose:
-
-
time out at tom whitman's events,
from size to cherry pop to sanctuary . . .
love this boy.
-

-
and, lovely tim,
once again surprised me,
putting one of my favorite pieces of brandon's on layaway
for two years,
only to unveil it recently.
-
i love working and having "ethan green"
watching over us:

and, oh yeah, i got older, too . . .

-
a month or so ago
in the middle of all the newness,
i aged.
-
so tim, that scoundrel,
threw a surprise party for me
right after the toronto shoot.
-
needless to say,
the food was . . . impressive.
-

-
he went with a dessert theme,
and the last cake is my favorite,
a "triple berry with whipped cream frosting"
that pretty much kills and leaves you a little wet.
-
the friends who showed up,
fresh from the set, and from my past few years in l.a.
made it amazing.
-

-
even bic, who LOVES having her pic taken . . .
-
-
needless to say, i was happy.  and thankful.
-

-
you gotta enjoy it as it happens, babies . . .

POOL PARTY. EYE CANDY. FRIED CHICKEN. MARGARITAS. DSQUARED. MODELS. BFFS. MIRRORED SUNGLASSES. it's saturday.

let's just say a friend of a friend
generously offers you the use of their pool on saturday.
-
and you think, nice, we can all go lounge,
celebrate the end of "landis week",
and catch some rays.
-
let's just say friend of friend
didn't mention the house looked like THIS:
-
-
i know, right?
perfect!
-
thank god jim and lyle remembered to bring hats:
-
-
and blow up toys.
no pool party is complete without blow up toys.
-
-
monkeys in the pool.
all kinds of monkeys in the pool.
-
-
from the top:
clump o' monkeys,
drunky monkeys,
drowny monkeys,
pre-teen monkey,
hunky monkey,
funky monkey.
-
-
tim's food was outrageous.
the theme was "a judd family picnic",
so, popeye's fried chicken and chicken sausage gravy,
assorted foo foo salads (that's the ashley judd part),
margaritas, and cheesecake.
-
you should have seen those gay boys eat fried chicken.
it was like the eagle on a school night.
-
brandon and i felt our sunglasses were outrageous, as well:
-
-
you can see a damn story in the lenses.
can you spot the jim and lyle?
can you spot the moldavian manse?
-
-
it was a dreamy, long, sunny, day.
and in the end, there's nothing much better than your buddies,
an insane pool,
and the time to enjoy them both
to wrap up a week of celebration.
