april. APRIL? good lord, i've missed blogging . . .

-
time, it gets away from one, don't it?
-
so . . . some of the little fun things that we did in APRIL.
-
richard haines was in town for the opening of his show
at a gallery literally around the corner from our house,
so,
we got to have dinner with one of our favorite illustrator/blogger/renaissance men,
got to go to a great opening,
and i got to wear that purple scarf again.
-
(in order of importance.)
-

-
(plus, met a model for a show coming up, but dan vickery is another story . . .)
-
(a semi-naked american flag story, but another story, nonetheless . . .)
-
easter.
puppy loves still good with los angeles being 75, always.
-

-
brandon hermann, friend, artist and photo mentor,
let me collaborate with him on an editorial shoot recently,
and it was the great combination of glamour and edge
that an artist and a fashion fiend can find
when the like to create
together:
-

-
lots of nightlife.
-
love watching chris puckett dance.
he . . . um . . . really lets loose:
-
-
time out at tom whitman's events,
from size to cherry pop to sanctuary . . .
love this boy.
-

-
and, lovely tim,
once again surprised me,
putting one of my favorite pieces of brandon's on layaway
for two years,
only to unveil it recently.
-
i love working and having "ethan green"
watching over us:

living in neutral -

someone recently told me
that i lived my life in neutrals.
i vehemently
disagree.
sorta.
after all,
i believe in very very very colorful . . .
accessories?

raw fish and caipirinhas are lethal -

tonight, after casting and then spending hours rewriting the spots in my hotel room with sara and richard, kira and sara and i went out to a great sushi restaurant. how do i know it was great?

i took pictures, fools:

PLUS, they served these great drinks. no, it's not out of focus, that's just how the second one looked when it hit the table. trust me on this, it's must be some kind of special brazilian voodoo magic thing.

if you need verification, feel free to ask sara, she had two as well, and seemed perfectly astute as she explained her brazilian wax to me. it made total sense.

and see, here? kira and i both looking perfectly capable of staggering to the car after and having the driver take us "back to that place".

hey. nice scarf. i should wear that more often.

BEEEG red wall. leeetle tim and landis.

FINE. I'LL DO SOMETHING CULTURAL.

but i'm not going to be happy about it.

forbidden city/tianamen square. whee.

(not big on crowds. and smells. and the two put together.)

SHOOT ME.

ok, wasn't that bad. you know, all vast and big spaces and historical and stuff.

just very very very crowded/strangers touching you/stepping on your feet/haven't bathed in days. and that was just the german tourists.

come see the market in old beijing -

if only i could put the barbara streisand track on this post:
"come see the supermarket in old beijing. . . "

sara and see joined us in beijing,
and the four of us set off for the puonjiang flea market,
a weekend only collection of . . . well . . . everything.

you name it, it's here.

we shopped. we haggled. we bartered. we walked away and were chased down aisles.
and oh yeah. they've never seen an iphone.
