best birthday gift ever.

richard brought these japanese flash cards back from tokyo on his last visit.

they used them to teach english back in the 1920's.

my two favorites are "gray/spot"

and "dick/tim".

no reason!

i love the pink piggy.

wait till i rip it limb from limb and gut it all over the family room,
leaving shreds of piggydom
over the entire sofa.

ANOTHER birthday? already?

ok, susan and diane threw me this little belated dinner party.

and cooked. which is reason enough to turn thirty eight twice in a year.

thirty six.

(what's the official "cute gay guy" cut off age again? thirty five?)

screw it, the cinnamon orange peel honey cake

with the fresh cream icing was worth turning

my real age.

which is thirty-something. ish.

a day in my life -

this, apparently, is how my ex-partner tereasa thinks i work.

i love tereasa.

(click on the pic to read her witty copy larger)

thank god this is over -

six months. she's been "fixed". took her ten days to bounce back.

don't worry, she's all bouncy again.

on the town -

we've been making a dent in the sf dining scene. this is us at bong su.

panchita's #3 -

so the best part of the labor day weekend was stumbling into my new favorite restaurant, panchita's #3.

we drive past this place every morning on our way to work, it's on the outer edge of the mission in a "transitional" part of the neighborhood. "transitional" in that half the people on the street either have safeway carts, imaginary friends, or clients who drive by in sedans with suburban plates.

however, it's chic, industrial cool, and the patrons were a mix of a table of leather daddies, hispanic families at the bar (yes, babies and all), couples with multiple tatts, and us, the gay couple in their blazers.

and it was GREAT.

so, between the ceviche on avocado with a lime vinaigrette, homemade guacamole, or the crabmeat enchiladas. . . i'm going back.
