my wishes for you, on this shiny new, possibility laden morning:

you will only need a few things this new year
to feel full,
and fulfilled.
-
so, i wish you:
-
beings that love you without condition and beyond comprehension
-

-
the perfect french 75
for when you are down, and when you are up
(recipe included, just in case)
-

-
flowers every week,
to remind you how fleeting beauty is.
flowers every week,
to remind you how eternally it returns:
-

-
the ability to be thankful for those upon whom  you can rely,
and to cherish their support.
-

-
loving what you do,
even as you are figuring it out along the way,
loving every moment of what you do!
-

-
perfect lighting.
it changes how you see
everything.
-

-
the reminder that EVERY day
is a new year,
a new start,
a new chance.
resolve only that you will begin,
and you will find yourself unlimited,
boundless,
and alive.

new holiday traditions : the return of "the muffin" and the vicious pit bull

though we didn't technically do gifts this year,
(don't kid yourself, tim keeps me well covered year round, i'm not complaining)
the pups did deserve a little surprise.
-
ages ago, grr used to get stuffed toys that squeaked.
-
we called them "muffins".
-
that word now turns her into a savage sort of blood-lust,
as all she could do with these toys was tear them to tiny pieces
until she located and destroyed the squeaker.
they she would proudly parade around with the skin of "muffin" for months.
-
for a dog that has the calmest soul of any beast i've ever met,
it's her ONE disturbing trait.
-
but, it was xmas.
so,
-

-
45 seconds.
flat.
avec?
totally different response.
-

-
i can't wait to see how unpredictable
and predictable
they are in this new year.
-
happy new year's eve, little bloglets.

new holiday traditions : xmas eve

returning this year to simpler things,
(no travel, no big gifts, no wild parties),
tim and i simply put up the tree and gathered our "orphans".
-
xmas eve was sitting around watching old movies
while the puppies put uncle luke into a deep slumber
by piling on him:
-

-
and yes, I picked the movie.
-

-
after all,
what else says "holiday"
like a lesbian vampire erotic romp from the eighties?
-
