PRETTY THINGS WORTH POSTING : object lessons

-
things, stuff, detritus,
and other bits of randomness in the file marked "untitled" on the desktop :
-
the perfect camel/nude YSL blazer
-
-
a thirty two thousand dollar
(yes, read it again)
celine crocodile purse at barney's
-

-
the perfect accessory.
puppy love.
-

-
model cards on the sideboard from a casting at the home studio.
-

-
a fabulous/obscene "blow up doll" chair
at b&b italia.
it's SILVER.  it INFLATES.  what's not to adore?

PRETTY THINGS WORTH POSTING - fall will be blushing

-
i first noticed it on tumblr.
the stream was taken over by waves of pink.
not blush, not "makeup colors",
but pink.
-
it ranged from a klimt i had never seen
to chris fawcett for coitus mag :
-

-
charlotte free and her pink hair have transitioned over to male models :
-

-
and for fall,
celine has no fear.
following their wildly covetable neon pink bag for spring,
they sent a navy and neon pink MINK
down their fall runway . . .
and it is all over every blog i see.
-

-
even rick owens showed hints of the trend
in a collection where what they call makeup colors
trended softly over into pinks and blush tones.
from RICK OWENS.
-

-
most lovely of all,
most heart-wrenching,
was raf simons' last show for jil sander.
he re-imagined this house,
he was reaching an apex,
and the couture influenced shapes of the past few seasons
seemed to reach a crescendo here,
as models walked in fifties inspired (but not madmen copied)
dresses and clutch coats,
each which felt more modern than the next
due to fabrication,
minimalism,
and cut.
-
and the predominant color for his final show?
not black.
but pink.
-

-
when i saw the details of this collection,
i understood why he wept when he did his encore walk.
-
on a last note,
the displays on the runway
were terrariums,
or victorian mourning boxes,
filled with fresh, pink flowers.

-
-
i will in all likelihood never get ink.
but there are times i ponder.

GABRIEL DEL CAMPO (perhaps the best antiques store, ever) :

-
also in san telmo,
on the main square,
stands the flagship of GABRIEL DEL CAMPO,
an amazing store filled with things you never knew you needed,
yet now,
now you need.
-

-
vintage louis vuitton trunks?
oh. dear. god. yes.
-

-
marble statuary feet?
-

-
manacop found this sculpture of a centaur . . .
wanted it SO badly.

-
i, on the other hand,
died over this marble piece.
