three dresses stood out and helped tell the tale:

the lace seduction dress,

the blackbird madness dress,

the caged angel dress.

EDUARDO LUCERO COUTURE -

the summer exploration started when eduardo lucero,

the los angeles based celebrity red carpet mainstay designer,

asked me to come see his runway show at a museum gala,

and then collaborate on a project inspired by the clothing.

-

this led to a short based on the concept of a female matador,

a whirlwind of filming in an empty storefront on melrose place,

actresses and models and topless moments,

and a bunch of new friends.

-

it also led to photographing eduardo's work,

which is exquisitely hand detailed,

with amazing silhouettes.

things i can't mention, mixed with things i can . . .

we've been shooting a lot of stuff.

we've been busy.

it's so much freakin stress.  and fun.

i work with lovely amazing people.

and though i'm not sure where it will lead . . .

memorial day weekend, part the third :

our friend eduardo xol had a great birthday party

this weekend for our friend MAC,

so it was another outdoor,

sun-dappled,

dizzyingly jasmine scented,

los angeles day.

eduardo's insanely adorable niece, Star.

tian.  also a star.

i'm not sure it was a surprise,

but he sure was happy.

and look who showed up late!

memorial day weekend, part the second :

wake up after party.

walk dogs.

head to london hotel.

take elevator to roof.

find third cabana in, meet up with tian and christiano.

reeeeeelax.

then, walk dogs.

meet jim and lyle.

head to roof top pool at Le Petit hotel.

drink tequila and reeeeeeelax.

memorial day weekend, part the first :

to begin the weekend,

and to share the first edit of "torera",

tim and i had the whole cast and crew over to a casual bbq on the roofdeck.

of course, 

when tim does casual 

it involves lamb, grilled peaches, four composed salads,

strawberry shortcake and champagne.

hence, the lovely kitchen crew:

(julia, timmer, and luke)

and then, the grill fired up,

and things got racy . . .

tian kitchen showed early, with her lovely husband christiano, 

she was a huge welcome surprise in the film.

she is easy to direct, and as much of a ham in front of the camera as i am.

as dusk fell over the billboards of santa monica, the party kicked in:

eat no, pump no, drink no evil, boys:

later, we moved inside.

to the bar.

it was the start of the long weekend.

and a great running leap for it . . .
