holidaze in el ay.


hmmm.

i don't know if i'm more surprised by the fact that i was disappointed with the execution,
or the fact that i actually did a double take.

who MAKES horns like that for cars?

l.a. is realllllly the wrong place to be for the holidays.
hired musicians greeting shoppers as they exit parking structures in beverly hills depresses me. i'd much rather a down-and-out sort blasting "silent night" on his dented sax in the walk-way to the 1 and the 2 at times square.

I have seen a whole bunch of these lame antlers around town. They are put on by the same people who had Lakers Flags stuck on their cars in tatters 4 years after they installed them. Ugh.

As for celebrating in Los Angeles, I am always warmed by the not often opening to "White Christmas",

"The sun is shining, the grass is green, the orange and palm trees sway, there's never been such a day in Beverly Hills, L.A., but it's December the 24th, and I am longing to be up North..."
